AAW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE
Silas Young ( C ) VS Tyler Black

The history between these two men is well documented. This match became even more interesting in the last few days with news Tyler Black has signed a deal with WWE. As of now Black’s final independent appearance in the country will be AAW’s “Defining Moment” on 9/24. Bottom line here is Tyler Black wants to leave the company he helped build with the belt and Silas Young wants to make sure Black never makes it to WWE. We have now been told that AAW officials have decided if Black wins the title and holds it when his AAW run is over that there will be a tournament to crown a new champion. Silas Young has other plans as he will try to hold on to the belt by any means necessary. Expect an electric atmosphere Saturday night when Tyler Black and Silas Young face off for the final time!

JOEY EASTMAN RETURNS TO AAW

The hype is almost over. In just days Joey Eastman will stand in the middle of an AAW ring with the microphone for the first time in eighteen months. In that time the landscape of AAW has changed considerably. Where does Eastman now fit in? How will the AAW fans react to his return? Who has he aligned himself with and what is this unfinished business he keeps alluding to? We will all find out this Saturday night.

GRUDGE MATCH
Brett Gakiya VS Josh Raymond

Several years back Josh Raymond (then known as Josh Abercrombie) was making waves on the independent scene for his innovative and creative aerial offense, a position that young Brett Gakiya now finds himself in as he and his partner CJ Esparza have been turning heads with their breath taking, high flying style. Since Raymond joined Truth Martini’s “House of Truth” he has added a ruthless and aggressive side to his arsenal and this match furthers the House of Truth vs Zero Gravity feud. Both men have been working in tag team action for the past couple of years and now go one on one in what promises to be an action packed match up.

GRUDGE MATCH
CJ Esparza VS Christian Able

Ever since debuting in AAW with Zero Gravity, CJ Esparza has been known to show tremendous heart and determination in his matches. He will need every ounce of it when he takes on the other half of the “House of Truth”, Christian Able. Able has gone from relative obscurity to one of the most menacing figures in AAW thanks to the teachings of Truth Martini. It will be Able’s brute strength against Esparza’s speed and agility in this one.

SIX PERSON TAG MATCH

Krotch, MsChif, Samuray Del Sol
VS
Chandler McClure, Knight Wagner, Jordan McEntyre

After emerging triumphant in their issue with the Northstar Express the unlikely duo of Krotch and MsChif (lovingly named by some fans as “Krotchif”) now look for another challenge as they team with the red hot luchador Samuray Del Sol to take on the devious Chan Clan. Chandler McClure secured his new AAW contract last month when he and Knight Wagner defeated Colt Cabana and Derek St. Holmes (an issue that seems to be far from over). Jordan Mcentyre has dropped two straight to Del Sol and is looking for some payback in this intergender six person tag match.

- In case you haven’t heard by now the one and only Joey Eastman is returning to AAW on 8/14 at the “Reign of Violence” event. After a year and half long absence Eastman shocked the live crowd at Scars and Stripes with a recorded promo claiming the time was now right for his return to the company. We have now learned that negations between Eastman and AAW have been going on for months but many questions still remain. Why is Eastman choosing now to make his return and what does he have up his sleeve? We will all find out on 8/14 when Joey Eastman once again holds court in the center of the Berwyn Eagles Club.

- AAW Heavyweight Champion Silas Young and The Irish Airborne are said to be livid after being suspended without pay for Scars and Stripes. The treacherous trio return at “Reign of Violence” on 8/14 and are stating that they have quite a bit of buisness to take care of. We’ve seen what these men are capable of attacking wrestlers, referees, and even fans and now there seems to be even more motivation behind their mean streak.

- Speaking of Silas Young, a gigantic match was just announced that will see him put his AAW Heavyweight Title on the line on 8/14 against one half of the AAW Tag Team Champions and current ROH World Heavyweight Champion Tyler Black. There is a lot of history and bad blood between these two men and look for an in depth preview of what may be the biggest AAW Title match in history to go up online later this week.

- The House of Truth have been consolidating their ranks in recent months dismissing both Valerie Malone and Mason Beck. Truth Martini is now focusing on getting Josh Raymond and Christian Able back to the AAW Tag Team Titles. Zero Gravity may have something to say about that however as it seems this rivalry is far from over after Martini nailed Brett Gakiya with his “Book of Truth” last month and eliminated Zero Gravity from the three way Tag Title match.

- Arik Cannon and Dave Prazak have been begging for worthy competition for the AAW Heritage Title. Cannon will get his wish as a number of challengers are now emerging for the prestigious championship. Louis Lyndon has rattled off several wins in recent months, Dan Lawrence is having the biggest year of his career and Mason Beck is now free from the shackles of the House of Truth and looking to get into title contention. Cannon is coming off an impressive showing at DGUSA last weekend in Philadelphia.

- Jimmy Jacobs has been cleared for a return to AAW on 9/24 at “Defining Moment”.

- Jerry Lynn makes his return to AAW on 9/24 at “Defining Moment”.

-Ryan Boz seems to be at a crossroads in his career as numerous injuries continue to hamper his in ring performance. We are being told by those close to him that he wants to make one more run at a title in AAW. We saw Boz take out his former cohort Danny Daniels last month and there is no doubt the AAW fans are now behind him.

-Senior AAW Official PJ Drummond is said to be looking to crackdown on violence against referees. AAW does have referees discretion and disqualifications are rare but we have seen the line either crossed or come very close to being crossed on numerous occasions this year. Drummond will meet with his referee crew to discuss enforcing the rules in the coming weeks.

- Mark you callendars now for the huge AAW / Dragon Gate USA triple shot weekend. Friday 9/24 AAW presents “Defining Moment 2010″. Saturday 9/25 DGUSA is back at the Congress Theatre for the “Untouchable 2010″ PPV taping. Then it’s on to Milwaukee for a special matinee show on Sunday 9/26 at the intimate Miramar Theatre. - New AAW releases at www.SmartMarkVideo.com include “Bound by Hate” featuring Silas Young vs Dan Lawrence in a Dog Collar Match and a special two pack featuring the Quad Cities shows “Scott County Showdown” and “Epic” that featured the excellent Main Event of Tyler Black vs Prince Mustafa Ali .

A match AAW fans have been waiting months for now comes to fruition as Silas Young takes on Tyler Black for the AAW Heavyweight Championship. These two men have quite a history as they first met in January of 2008 at AAW’s “Path of Redemption” show in what was supposed to be Silas Young’s farewell match before heading to WWE developmental. He issued an open challenge that was answered by Black. After an intense back and forth match it was Tyler Black who had his hand raised. Silas’s deal would fall through and he would soon return to the company but the two men’s paths would not cross once again until November at “The Windy City Classic 4″.

Both men were fan favorites at this point and Silas had scratched and clawed his way to a title shot against Black. Both men came in prepared and had numerous counters to each others offense. Unfortunately interference from Josh Raymond marred this would be classic and Tyler Black was able to get the victory with a roll up. Both men shook hands and Black told Silas he would be open to a rematch. That match would not take place for almost another year however as Tyler Black was sidelined with a neck injury.

Finally in October of 2009 Black and Young would find themselves once again looking across the ring from each other at “Massacre on 26th St.”. It was Black’s first match back after neck surgery and Silas was coming off an amazing performance the month before coming up just short in his match against Bryan Danielson. Silas had been struggling with “winning the big one” and slapped Danielson in the face in frustration following the bout. He had since apologized for his actions and hoped to make his mark in this contenders match. Once again Black and Silas went at each other with every thing they had as Silas focused his attack on Blacks surgically repaired neck. Black showed a tremendous amount of heart in this match and was able to once again come out victorious. Silas swallowed his pride and went to shake Tyler’s hand after the bout only to be slapped in the face as a receipt for what Young had done to Danielson. Tensions were growing between the two and they would come to a head in November at the 5th “Windy City Classic.”

Coming in to the Classic Jimmy Jacobs was the reigning AAW Heavyweight Champion. He would defend his belt in a fatal four way where challengers would qualify in bouts held earlier in the evening. Tyler Black defeated Jay Bradley to qualify but was jumped after the match by the Irish Airborne who delivered a spike piledriver reinjuring Black’s neck. His status for the main event was unknown. Silas Young and Shane Hollister also qualified and the match would turn into a triple threat match due to Black being unable to compete. During the match Silas would show his true colors as it was revealed he had aligned with the Irish Airborne and their interference lead to Silas Young finally winning the AAW Heavyweight Championship. Minutes after the title change an injured Tyler Black slowly came to ringside and demanded a title match. Young obliged and was finally able to defeat Tyler Black using his own “Gods Last Gift” finisher against him. Silas told Black he had his title shot and he just blew it.

Now just days away Tyler Black gets his shot at revenge and his shot to become the first ever three time AAW Heavyweight Champion. Black will already be wearing gold to the ring as he is currently one half of the AAW Tag Team Champions with Jimmy Jacobs and the current ROH World Heavyweight Champion. Silas Young is coming off a one month suspension and has promised that he and the Irish Airborne will be making a “number of physical statements” on August 14th. Both men are champions. Both men are in their prime and both want to prove once and for all who the better man is. We will all find out on August 14th at “Reign of Violence”.

The AAW Return of Joey Eastman

- First off this week AAW has rolled out the summer 2010 schedule and it includes our return to Milan IL at the National Guard Armory on Friday night 6/4. Silas Young, Tyler Black, Jimmy Jacobs and House of Truth will all be appearing. Then we return to Berwyn on Friday night 6/11 as the last stop before “Scars and Stripes 2010″ comes to the Eagles Club on Saturday 7/10. Finally the annual “Fate of Eight” tournament will take place on 8/14. Be sure to check the events section at www.AAWrestling.com for ticket info and details.

- Lots of buzz backstage at “Appetite for Destruction” a couple weeks back around the performance of Dan Lawrence in his title match against Silas Young. After being run down and insulted by Silas before the bout, Lawrence took the champion to the limit proving he could hang at the top level of competition. After DL kicked out of Young’s PeeGee Waja Plunge finisher the champion grew frustrated and used a steel chair to retain his title. It didn’t stop there however as Silas continued his attack after the bell prompting the locker room to come out and pull him off the challenger. AAW officials were quick to sign the rematch and allowed Lawrence to choose the stipulation. On 6/11 in Berwyn it will be Dan Lawrence vs Silas Young in a Dog Collar Chain Match!

- The rumor mill is turning with the news this week that Trik Davis and Danny Daniels will compete on 6/11 in a “pick your partner” match. After Daniels defeated Trik in two straight controversial matches it was decided that each will have an opportunity to choose a tag team partner and settle the score once and for all. The intrique factor picked up tenfold this week when Trik Davis notified the AAW office he has found a partner that will “blow the roof off the Eagles Club”. We have now learned that Trik’s partner has competed in AAW before and will be returning to the roster. No other info is known at this time. Stay tuned.

- The Tag Team division is the most competitive it has been in years. Tyler Black and Jimmy Jacobs have been turning back challengers and next up is the former two time champions The Northstar Express. Corbin and Cruz will try to regain the belts on June 11th in this exciting first time ever match up. Whoever comes out on top has a list of impressive challengers waiting for them as Zero Gravity, Irish Airborne and the House of Truth are all in line.

- Knight Wagner and the Chan Clan continue to push the issue with Wagner’s uncle Derek St. Holmes. Wagner has been trying for months to get the AAW color commentator in a match but St. Holmes has continued to turn the other cheek as he promised his sister he would never face her son in the ring. Wagner is telling people in the locker room he has a plan to make sure this match happens and he will put it into motion soon.

- Shane Hollister continues to rehab after a severe leg injury back in March. Hollister is hoping to return to AAW by years end.

- Also in injury news Ryan Boz continues to work through an arm injury that required major surgery last year. Boz is one of the veterans of the locker room and some are saying this injury may be more serious than he is letting on. More on this as it develops.

- AAW and Dragon Gate USA will return for another double shot weekend on Friday September 24th at the Berwyn Eagles Club for AAW “Defining Moment 2010″ and Saturday September 25th at The Congress Theatre for the DGUSA “Untouchable 2010″ PPV taping. Stay tuned for some exciting talent announcements.
